The ring system around Xenolympus has a diameter of 33,026 Km and consists mostly of base metals and oxides. It may have been formed by the collapse of an orbiting moon or a passing asteroid.
Interspersed at equidistant intervals throughout the ring are the Rhomosh, passive sentinels of the planet. Nearly a kilometer long, these incredible structures are organic, composed of a complex crystalline weave. Although appearing formidable, the Rhomosh (named for the F'Brixi woodwind instrument they resemble) are simple devices, harvesting energy from the planet's magnetic radiation belt and converting it into a distortion field that masks the planet from a distance. Scanners as close as six million kilometers had difficulty maintaining a fix on the world. Even in tight orbit it took days to obtain and confirm the planet's measurements.
