After the Maelstrom
A survey team out in the Sodium
Dunes had to scramble into their shellter when sensors picked up a wind storm aproaching. When they emerged three hours later, they found that the dunes around them had shifted, and this rather forbidding figure had been revealed.
Although evoking humanoid form and resembling a sarcophagus, this item is solid. It is composed of and adorned with no less than fifteen different metals and woods from around the planet. The craftsmanship is exquisite. It is coated with a durable resin that has preserved the artifact for untold years under the harsh salt.
Anthropologists theorize that it is a memorial. Some of the Humani call it a "scarecrow," an image used to frighten away unwanted guests. More survey teams have been dispatched to scan beneath the dunes for more such objects.
