The Hanging City
It is common to find a city erected wherever two rivers converge. This confluence happens to be three kilometers below the surface of Xenolympus. It is part of a series of waterways that thread through the network of lava tubes that lie below the crust. This is one of the smaller cities found in these tubes, but it is the most charming.
It is very dark this far down, even the bioluminescent lichen that line the tunnels gives off little light. It was first assumes that this was the home to race similar to terrestrial bats, which use echolocation to navigate. However the enormous waterfall next to the city is deafening, making such senses implausible.
So far, some thirty such inverted cities have been discovered.
