Excalibur
This ominous mist-shrouded city, designated Fogtown by some of the Explorers, holds many wonders and mysteries worth mentioning. But it is this strange device near the entrance which is most intriguing. Nicknamed "Excalibur" after an Earth legend, the machine is fused to the worn volcanic rock at the molecular level. Without the benefit of moving parts it senses changes in light and moisture, and controls a number of underground thermal vents. These in turn heat the natural springs beneath the city. As a result the entire region is kept at a constant 72% humidity. This simple method of environmental control is the only one of its kind found on Xenolympus so far. Its presence on this arid world has many Explorers theorizing if this city was a colony from some other planet.
