A City in Silence A cryptic monolith serves two purposes: providing a perch for a dozing reptile, and pointing the way to Xenopolis. This city has become a legend worthy of its homeworld. All 80 square kilometers of it are fortified beyond imaging. There are moats of acid, lenses that focus sunlight to laser sharpness, electrified walls, and other dangers preventing a substantial search. Several dozen autodrones were destroyed in the attempt. The city has also proven to be difficult to scan due to the exotic materials it was constructed of. As one would expect, speculation as to the city's contents are rampant and imaginative. The Linguists Guild claim the pylons surrounding the city are "Rosetta Stones," repeating the same information in several languages. This theory has yet to be proven. |
